Office Conversations: Integrity
....Nahh, I highly doubt any company would do that.
But seriously, our vending machine has been broken for months and we've all been feeding off it for free...surely they would've noticed by now...?

When it's just "sprinkling" rain outside...
Hate it when there's only a bit of a drizzle and you don't know whether to open your umbrella or not...then you feel it's not worth the trouble (because you know, umbrellas can be a pain to deal with, as proven previously), so you still get wet, but not soaking wet, but wet enough to make you feel annoyed...

Breaking the curse
I'm pretty sure it's been more than 3 years since I haven't been to SMASH! (Sydney Manga and Anime Show!). I don't even remember the last time I went, but back then, it was still a small-ish event.
Even though I was just starting to recover from the flu this year, I still forced myself to go, and I was really happy that I did! I finally got to meet up with some great people and I was amazed at how much SMASH! had grown - it's really become huge now!
The moral of the story is... sometimes things just happen, and you don't have control over them, but instead of being discouraged you just have to work through it, and there is such a thing as breaking a curse.
I really hope I can make it to SMASH! every year from now on. =)

Flu shots
So apparently, we've had one of the worst flu outbreaks this year. But honestly, does the flu vaccine really work? I'm still sceptical about it. I remember having it done one year and it didn't make much of a difference. Though since I did get the flu this year I probably want to be more cautious next year and just get the shot anyway...
...I really do hate needles though!

Plumbing Story (Epilogue)
Final word: How good are tradies! Seriously, they are my daily heroes. Actually, I know what you might say, there are also some pretty bad tradies out there (never on time, over-charging, irresponsible, etc). But there are good ones too. The ones who come to solve my problems and help me when I'm in trouble. The ones who also take the time to explain to me what the problem was too!
I've experienced 2 really great plumbing companies in the last month. If anyone needs recommendations in Sydney, I would highly recommend either of these 2:
PJ Martin Plumbing

Plumbing Story (Part 2)
It was the laundry that flooded first... then it spread into the kitchen... a day later and the basement and garage area also flooded. Our building stank with sewerage water for a couple of days...
Every bad thing that could've happened has happened. Is there anything else??

For the love of Comic Sans...?
When I did some research into this, I could see why people hated the use of Comic Sans. I mean, if you're going to write a serious message or formal document, obviously you shouldn't be using it!!
But what about for comics? Can I still use it? I'm not sure anymore, because there's so much hate out there for this font...so I don't want people to think I'm stupid for using it.
I've also looked at other authors' comics, and most of them have avoided Comic Sans altogether.
Hmm, what do you think? Please let me know!

Annoying things people say...
Rant of the day: Annoying people pretending to be experts in your field.
Obviously, if I follow something or take interest in it, I'm going to know a lot about it. It's fine if that person doesn't know much about it themselves, but don't pretend you know more than me when you've only brushed on it yourself! Honestly, you just end up making a fool of yourself by asking stupid questions.
A much better way of making conversation would be asking things like "Which K-pop groups do you like? Which ones do you follow? Have you been to any concerts?" etc.
And I don't take offence if people don't share the same interests as me - more than happy to just move on to the next topic and talk about your own interests instead. =)

Dating Advice: for Social Anxiety (Part 3 - End)
I don't believe in cures for social anxiety - it will never go away completely. But I do believe in ways to help yourself feel better and feel less anxious in certain situations. It's a really long learning process though and you need to have fairly patient friends too.
On another note, the problem with dating apps is it feels like you're forcing yourself to go out and date people. You're meeting people with an agenda and purpose. I think some of that contributes to the anxiety a bit, because while you're judging others, they'll also be judging you. Call me old school, but I feel relationships should be built more naturally; not for a specific purpose, but because you genuinely want to be with that person.
Sorry readers, this series wasn't real dating advice obviously! 😜

Dating Advice: for Social Anxiety (Part 2)
To define how serious my level of social anxiety would be quite hard. It really depends on the situation, the place, and the people. There will be times where I am really eager to meet up with friends, but then there are days where even a simple lunch catchup could make me nervous...
I guess it's also why I suck at things like interviews too!

Dating Advice: for Social Anxiety (Part 1)
Not many people understand social anxiety. When I say I really dread going out to meet people or making new friends, I get given that weird look. You know, the "you're not very normal" look. Well, I guess I can't blame them, since it really is not a very normal way to feel. But social anxiety is not a choice. It's very much like depression...it won't go away when people tell you to just get over it, or be brave. Sure, I'll give some things a try, but I'll be a nervous wreck throughout it.
So if you're like me, and suffer from some form of social anxiety - you're not alone. :)
And in my eyes, you're not weird at all. 💜

Booking a dinner in 2017...
Booking a dinner almost felt like applying for a home loan or insurance.
To be fair, it was a fancy restaurant, but their booking system is just way too complicated!

Holiday Emotions
Special thanks to: JY
Life has ups and downs.
At the moment, I'm going through a down... and I don't think even a holiday can fix it.
Maybe I'll post a comic about it later, there's just so much ridicule in this situation that I don't know whether to laugh or cry. *Sigh*
