Why didn't I get reminded to put up a comic this week??

*Sigh*. Apologies for all delayed comics. Living a double life can be hard. >.<

W (The Two Worlds) - A Korean Drama Parody

Notes:
* The "real-world portal" image is an actual screen cap from the drama series (credits to: MBC network).
* Bunny image credits to: justcuteanimals.com

***Warning: "W" spoiler alert ahead due to bunny comic explanation.***

For those who don't know, "W" (aka "The Two Worlds") is a Korean drama about a comic character that came to life and the author became scared of his own creation, so he tries to kill the character off to end the series quickly, but the character somehow keeps managing to avoid his own death. Eventually the character finds a portal and comes to visit the author in the real world...

It has already finished airing in Korea, but I'm just catching up to the series now.  I would say the story is pretty convoluted, but just imagine comic characters really coming to life...would that be scary or would it be awesome?  Hmm...

How My Family Talks

I don't really know how other families work, but this is how my family talks to each other.  There's never any context and we just expect each other to understand.  Sometimes it works...sometimes we just lose patience.

House Move Chronicles: Part 4 (Finale) - Unpacking

It has been 2 months since I've moved in already.  Needless to say, I'm still in the process of unpacking...
Actually the way you place things really makes a difference.  Hence it's okay to take your time and think it through, right?

I wouldn't want something to end up in a corner again, knowing it's never going to get touched in another 10 years.  Gone are the days of meaningless hoarding!  It's time to put some sense into life!!

House Move Chronicles: Part 3 - Assembling Furniture

We bought a lot of furniture from IKEA.  Although it's all pretty cool and great in concept....doing the actual assembly can be one hell of a task.

It's so easy to get something wrong that you start to wonder if you should even bother fixing it.  But then if you don't, can you really live with staring at that one mistake forever??  I'm one of those people who just can't. :(

House Move Chronicles: Part 2 - Moving

Moving house can be very physically tiring. Our previous apartment was on the third floor, with no lift.

Let me repeat... Third floor, WITH NO LIFT.

Did I also mention we had a piano?  OMG.

I couldn't sleep for the whole week just trying to imagine how these removalists were going to get that Incredible Hulk out the door!

mtbunnies IS FINALLY BACK!!!

Apologies for the delay everyone!! But mtbunnies is finally back!  And it feels great to return to normal schedule. :)

Actually a lot of my stuff is still in boxes due to the house move and I haven't been able to fully unpack... also I've somehow caught the flu. (Although that's no excuse, I know >.<)

There's still heaps to do, but I'll try my best to keep up!  Special thanks to those who have come back to read more comics, and have patiently waited all this time.

On a side note, I'm also working with new software and doing a little bit of experimenting, so please let me know if things start looking a bit off... =.='

Kids' Talk

Kids. The simplicity of their conversations is kind of endearing. :)

I overheard two kids on the train and the second half of this comic was their conversation.  Both kids actually believed that the dad "makes money" as in literally manufactures money, lol.

Superpowers

When I'm feeling down, I would think, if I could have any superpower, I'd want to be invisible.

But then I realise that would get really lonely.

So when I'm feeling good, I would think, if I could have any superpower, I'd want to fly.

And when I have dreams about flying, that day usually turns out pretty good. ^^

Office conversations: More appraisals...

This comic came from a conversation with a friend who is quite depressed with their job.

I must admit that I've once gone through similar thoughts before, a long time ago, so I can relate. But thankfully I was able to move on to better opportunities when the time came.

I hope you find a way out soon too, dear friend. :)

mtbunnies © 100th SPECIAL!!!

It's really hard to believe that 100 comics later and mtbunnies is still going on.  Honestly this was just meant to be a pilot and I really didn't think it would last this long!

Thanks so much to you, the readers, for all your support, and also thanks to those who just happened to pass by.

===============================

To celebrate the 100th special, here's a Q&A session with the author:

Q:  Do you have a favourite mtbunnies comic?
A:  I have quite a few favourites.  Usually the cosplay ones because they take so long to draw and are very detailed, so they are the comics that I am the most proud of.  If I really had to pick one though, I'd say the Superheroes one is still my favourite.

Q:  How long does it take you to draw one comic?
A:  For a simple comic, about an hour.  For a detailed or complicated one, it would take 3 hours.  If there is colour involved, it could take even longer!
This doesn't include thinking of the story or dialogue though.  Some comics are really hard to plot.  I often have an idea, but don't really know how to execute it, so sometimes it doesn't end up the way I want it to...

Q:  The bunnies look different sometimes, why is that?
A:  All comics are hand drawn with pen and paper, so sometimes it's hard to control how the bunnies look.  It also depends on the day - you can probably tell when I'm running out of time and the artwork appears rushed.  I do try my best to keep it consistent, but apologies for when things start to look a little weird. ^^;

Q:  Will you ever go digital?
A:  Still thinking about that, but leaning towards no.  These days I really don't have enough time as it is already, so practicing to go digital is not something I can afford to do at this point in time.  Pen and paper is still quicker and easier!

Q:  Have you ever thought about giving up mtbunnies?
A:  To be honest, yes.  When life outside of mtbunnies gets too out of hand, or on days where I just feel that there is no point to continue anymore, I do want to give up.
But even so, there's a little part of me that still wants to keep this going, and that was probably enough to keep it alive.

===============================

If you have anything else you'd like to ask, please feel free to leave more questions in the comments section below!

Sincerely,
MT

Anime Review: Akatsuki No Yona

"Akatsuki No Yona" translates to "Yona of the Dawn" (also known as "The girl standing in the blush of dawn") and is derived from a shoujo manga series.  I hesitate to talk about the plot because really, saying things like "it's about a princess on the run"...seriously doesn't do this series any justice!!  The story is much more than that.

I haven't been hooked onto a series like this in years.  This anime really drew me in and pulled a few strings in my heart (yes, I cried).  So anime lovers, if you're looking for something nice to watch, I recommend this one. :)

The Otaku Way

The figure featured in the comic is Saber from Fate/Stay Night, but actually the story in real life wasn't about her in particular.

I've made many other figure purchases simply because they looked stunning enough; without knowing anything about the characters themselves or the stories behind them.

Usually those figures are limited editions and amazingly expensive too.  Being an Otaku sure makes you feel very poor sometimes...
